In an effort to encourage our students to learn advanced soul line dances, and ensure that 410 Line Dancers’ students would be able to dance and have fun at soul line dancing events and conferences, in November 2014, we began the 410 Line Dancers Challenge of the Month (C.O.M.) Dance program.   Our C.O.M. program was created to encourage leadership, progression and growth.  C.O.M. dances are selected based on two primary factors:

  1. The popularity of the dance.   If we travel to a line dancing event, our goal is to be able to dance.  We want to ensure we know the advanced dances being showcased.

  2. As a tribute to the choreographers that create advanced line dances.

Initially, if the students could complete the Challenge of the Month (C.O.M.) dance, they were awarded a button commemorating their accomplishment.

Continuing the evolution of our C.O.M. program, in November 2015, we created The Annual Showstopper Challenge, where students showcase their talents by performing all of the C.O.M. dances for that year (which is in essence our version of an adult soul line-dancing dance recital).   Participating students that successfully complete the dances are presented The 410 Line Dancers Showstopper Challenge Award medal.  This unique event and recognition is the only one of its kind within the world of soul line-dancing.
